Smallmouth bass floats are our most popular guided
trip. We fish the lower Penobscot watershed between Medway
and Bangor and frequently catch more than 40 hard-fighting
river bronzebacks per trip. The 50-mile main
stem section of the Penobscot River, along with three major
tributaries, offers a near endless variety of angling options.
This is a beautiful, natural area where bald eagles, osprey,
deer and beavers are seen nearly every day.
Most of our bass fishing trips are run from a very comfortable Hyde
drift boat that has padded swivel seats and knee braces front and back.
We also wade a couple of different braided sections of the
river that are particularly well-suited for fly fishing. One spot even
provides the opportunity to catch landlocked salmon along with bass
during certain times of year.
Full day driftboat trips cost $320 and include a shore lunch
and all of your fishing gear. Most trips accommodate two anglers. A third person
can be added to some trips for an additional charge.
We are fortunate to have easy access to a large variety of smallmouth bass fishing
waters. We also have excellent largemouth bass fishing in the area. Therefore, we encourage people traveling from
a distance to consider a multi-day booking in order to take advantage of our diversity of bass fishing options. I'd be happy to help arrange your lodging while you are in the area.
