A hand-painted canoe paddle can represent a wonderful memento of a special trip to Maine, or make a great gift for someone who simply wants a nice-looking paddle is display or canoe with. We offer paddles with five different pictures painted on them: Brook Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Loon, Bald Eagle and Blue Heron. Each is customized with the initials of the person it was made for, and the year. All are coated with three layers of clear marine polyurethane and are meant to be used. If your paddle gets scratched, you can easily refinish it yourself. Click the ‘Refinish Paddle’ button on the following page and check out the ‘Before’ and ‘After’ pictures.
Our standard paddle is a basswood laminate that has a protective urethane edging at the tip. It is lightweight and holds up well to hard use. We carry paddles in three different lengths (66cm, 72,…..). When placing your order, please indicate your preferred paddle length, or the torso size of the person who will be using it. To determine torso size, sit up straight on a flat chair and use a yardstick to measure from the chair seat (in between your legs) to your nose. If you send us this torso measurement (in inches), we will choose the correct paddle for you.
For an additional fee, we can also order custom (Shaw and Tenney) paddles made of maple and other woods.
The price of our standard paddle is $145 (plus shipping). Please don’t hesitate to call or email any questions that you may have.
